People sometimes ask where Evgenia Pimzin comes from, and the simplest answer is the truest one:
I was named after my grandfather.

I never met him—he died in his late twenties, long before I was born. Yet his name has always followed me like a quiet thread woven through my life. A soft tug at the edge of my awareness. There is something powerful about a lineage I never touched, yet somehow feel the pulse of within me, as if the story lives in my bones even though no one ever told it to me.

Taking the feminine form of his name feels like a returning – a way of honouring a life that ended too early, and the silence that followed him through the generations.

Sometimes I think names choose us.
Sometimes the ones we belong to are the ones we never had the chance to know.
And sometimes, without meaning to, we become the continuation of a story someone else could not finish.

I like to believe this is so.

I am learning to navigate social media slowly, carefully, and without rushing myself into someone else’s pace. There is a quiet satisfaction in taking this step by step and allowing my breath to stay steady, letting my presence unfold without force.

I watch so many gifted people create incredible things online, and instead of feeling small, I feel inspired. If they can carve a space for their voice, perhaps I can gently carve mine too.

This process, this slow learning, this steady becoming – is teaching me as much about myself as it is about platforms and posts. And in this softness, I find my confidence growing, quietly but surely.

Starting Again From a Clean Slate

Living long enough to make sense of the twists and turns my life has taken has been a strange privilege –
a balm made of time, ache, and a clarity I did not have in my youth.
Although I did not always feel this way.

It took hindsight and a steadier mind to see that the first twenty years of my life were lived under the banner of my parents.
Like most dependants, I followed their rules, their shadows, their expectations.

But the math from there did not add up.

Somewhere along the line, I realised I could not blame the first twenty years for the next ten, twenty, thirty, forty.
At some point, adulthood stops being an inheritance and becomes a choice.

Stepping into this truth shifted the entire trajectory of my life.
I could take off beliefs, standards, viewpoints, generational wounds –
every vestige of their being –
simply by refusing to wear them anymore.

But I wasted over two decades before I understood this.

We are all powerful beings, far more than we dare to believe when we are tangled in the wrong stories.
We cling to narratives handed to us by family, culture, trauma, duty, guilt, habit –
and we forget that we were not born to carry every burden placed in our arms.

There comes a moment – quiet, startling, unmistakable –
when you see the life you are living
and the life that is calling
are not the same thing.

And you begin again.
Not by erasing the past,
but by refusing to allow it to dictate the future.

Starting again is not an act of rebellion.
It is an act of devotion –
to your soul, your peace, your precious wild and current life.

I am still learning this.
Still unclenching.
Still discovering the parts of myself that were waiting beneath all the noise.

But each time I begin again,
I feel the deep relief of coming home
to the person I was always meant to be.

The Gold Beneath the Mud

I have never been uncomfortable with difficult feelings – sadness, grief, shame, guilt.
It’s not that I embrace them or draw some unhealthy satisfaction from their presence.
It’s simply that I find profound truths inside them, a clarity like still water that settles my mind, my thoughts, my heart, and ultimately guides me toward my soul.

On the other side of difficult feelings, I always find release – from people, situations, or choices that were never meant for me.
So I invite these feelings in, like a loyal friend who refuses to be “nice” at all costs, who will not smooth over truth or hide discomfort under polite veneers.
They reveal the absence of genuine care in places where care should have been.

The truest friends are the ones who sit in the mud with you, who remain quiet witnesses to your hard passages, and say, “You can walk this path. I know you will. And I’ll be here when you reach the other side.”
Their faith becomes a kind of shelter.

I have no need for those who flinch at my difficult feelings.
They are bright trinkets – costume jewellery at best.
A shine that was never earned.

This too is a difficult truth to speak into being:
deciding who to let in, who to keep at a distance, and who to greet gently but never invite beyond the frivolities of passing time.

These truths are guides to a richer life.
So I embrace them.
They are the most excellent companions –worth the finest gold.

For the Years Ahead of You

Dear child,
as adult as you feel, remember this:

you do not know it yet,
not in this present moment.

So, I tell you early –
while you are still young
and tender in your naivety.

Enjoy your beauty,
but honour your mind, heart, and soul more.
Guard them like gold, silver, and bronze.
Value them beyond the purest diamonds,
for your mind, heart, and soul
will walk with you
until the very end of time.

And there –
that is where true beauty lives.
It ripens the heart with kindness,
sharpens discernment,
softens the eyes with age and wisdom.

A heart that leans on beauty alone
grows brittle and shallow.
A soul held hostage
by time and appearance
forgets how to live.

And if you miss that calling,
you miss the marrow of life itself.
You will only exist
within the walls you build around yourself –
the desperation to stay relevant
keeping your body moving,
your heart pumping,
but nothing more.

So, beloved,
embrace what stays
forever yours.

All my love,

On Forgiveness

Dear Child,

as adult as you are, remember,

Forgiveness does not always feel like freedom.
Nor does it feel just or fair.
Sometimes it roars, “Why should I?”

Because forgiveness means weighing it
against grief, loss, betrayal, neglect, and abuse.
It means letting go of the justice you deserved
and choosing to live on your own terms —
to finally cut the umbilical cord
between you and them.

And as days, weeks, and years pass,
the hollow space around your heart begins to lighten.
You’ll remember that forgiveness was never about excusing them;
it was about unburdening you —
letting you rise again.

It is letting your peace have the final word
they never deserved.

Because it was never about them.

All my love,

I am deliberately taking this part of my journey slowly – stepping into the world as an author, and allowing Instagram and Facebook to become gentle extensions of my voice. I feel a deep desire to share my soul with my readers, and for my readers to find me, to connect with my words, and maybe together make sense of this journey called Life.

In this small corner of the world I am building, I create my peace — and I send it out with all my heart, hoping it expands into the Universe.

The Theatre of Youth

I was never good at being young.
When the girls around me were discovering boys, I found the whole ritual overwhelming and strangely contrived – a choreography of ego rather than a meeting of hearts.

So, I watched instead.

Two unpolished, ill-trained ballerinas performing an awkward duet, each trying to master steps whose beauty they did not yet understand. This fascinated me more than the performance itself. He’d smile too widely, lick his lips like a cat tasting cream for the first time, desperate to appear more polished than he felt.

The girl, meanwhile, flicked her hair from one side to the other, shoulders pulled back, chest forward – a rehearsed display of allure meant to draw the fly to the web.

With every fibre of my being, I knew I could never perform in that theatre.
I was a foreigner in a land of amorous play I could neither understand nor desire, where the beauty of love and passion was reduced to meagre crumbs.

Inevitably, girl and boy would pair off, flaunt their uncomely attraction in small, nervous gestures, then part in a blaze of aloofness – each pretending not to care.
It always puzzled me. This dance of pretending, this performance of desire without tenderness, seemed a sure path to heartache and gossip.

I could not understand the point of it.
Even now, I’m not sure I ever will. Why put oneself through the inevitable? Why invite ego-pain early, when life itself will deliver it soon enough? Why let it be the unwanted guest arriving before its time?

So, I stood at the edges of youthful sport, observing life lessons played out mere inches from my nose, and felt an unseeming gratitude that the theatre of adolescence taught me whom to invite into my life – and whom only to respect from afar. Yet the same actors pitied me, and I smiled in return.

My website is live today!

I feel an unexpected peace settling over me — a quiet, steady gratitude that I am still here on my path, walking toward the life I always wanted to live. I never sought attention or validation. I have always dreamed of working quietly, consistently, and faithfully, letting the work grow in its own time.

No need to shout – only create.
No need to perform – only transform.

This gentle, unhurried way of building, word by word, truth by truth , is what my heart beats for. And now, seeing this little home of mine alive in the world, I feel blessed. Aligned. And quietly proud.

I will share my deepest secret with you. My writing has always been my closest heart-companion. Long ago, I realised that for others to witness the full orchestral range of my soul is often too much for them to digest. So I accepted that people feel far more connected to me than I have ever felt to them.

In that quiet space, I made peace with my loneliness. I stopped fighting it and instead leaned into the one place where I have always been fully met – my writing. It has heard me more faithfully than any relationship.

I hope this blog becomes the voice I send into the universe – a small bridge to the connection my soul has long yearned for.

Friday, 14 November 2025

I had two symbolic dreams today, but one lingered long after waking. I was renovating my home and my garage — tending to old spaces, rebuilding foundations, reshaping what would remain and what would go. As I moved through the dream, I realised my future is beckoning me into a new chapter. My role in life is being reshuffled, redefined, and new boundaries are quietly forming at the edges of me. I am excited and grieving at the same time — a strange combination that feels unfamiliar and yet deeply like home. For a while now, I’ve been resisting what my subconscious has been trying to assemble, but something in me is finally ready, or preparing, or both. I can feel myself stepping toward the place my soul has been yearning for, patiently, for so many years.

Thursday, 13 November 2025

Today I began shaping the contours of my website, and something inside me settled. I can feel this new chapter rising – not abruptly, but as the natural next step of a journey I have been walking toward for more than twenty years. It feels like a long-awaited homecoming. There is a quiet happiness in me, restrained only so it doesn’t spill everywhere too quickly. And perhaps it is no coincidence that after two days of rain, the sun returned this morning. Some beginnings announce themselves softly, like light finding its way back through the clouds.

When You Find Yourself Zagging

Dear Child,

as grown as you are, remember –

Sometimes, when everybody is zigging

You may feel you are zagging

Your softness, kindness may feel out of place

In a world that chases the appearances of the prize

Above humanity’s human touch.

Stop questioning your worth.

Based on the shallow values

that the world promotes.

The prizes are eventually forgotten

etched only in memory and in an ancient time.

The day you realize your worth,

had nothing to do with the world

but how touched life in its warmth,

and it was the language of your core

is the day you step into your soul.

So, stop chasing the wind.

You were not meant to fit neatly

into the world’s shape.

Nor the barrenness

Of its core.

See, dear one,

You job was to learn the skill

to navigate your soul.

To protect it

And never let them go.

All my love,

~ Evgenia Pimżin

On Quiet Courage

Dear Child,
As grown as you are, remember —

Real courage rarely roars.
Most days, it whispers to your soul,
or acts before you even have time to think.
It says, Try again.
Believe again.
Do courage — on your own terms. Again.

Courage is the steady pulse beneath disappointment,
fuelled by a grounded sense of self —
the voice that finally, and almost defiantly,
speaks with purpose, truth, and conviction,
and grows stronger than your fear
or the defences of your thoughts.

And then you realise —
it was your mind that slowed down
long enough for your voice to speak.
Perhaps softly at first,
like whispers practising to roar,
or firmly,
like a drumbeat finding its rhythm.

Slowly.
Deliberately.
Poised.
Grounded.
Determined.

You may never call yourself brave.
You may never call yourself calm.
But each time you choose truth over comfort,
and speak with purpose and presence,
you reveal that you are both.

Because to be truly brave
is to train your voice
to listen to your soul.

All my love,
Evgenia Pimżin

On Growing New Wings

Dear Child,

As grown as you are, remember —

A butterfly emerging from its cocoon
is dishevelled at first,
its wings soft and crumpled
until it pumps life into them,
and they dry —
and then, it flies.
And flies.
And flies.

This is you too.

There will be many seasons
of dishevelment in your life —
times when you are earning new wings,
preparing quietly for your next flight.

With each new flight
come different challenges, new loves,
fresh disappointments, unexpected joys.
And you learn to fly higher,
stronger, steadier —
because your wings have known the weight
and learned how to rise.

You forge new skills,
see new sights,
meet new souls.
And through it all,
you find your way —
each and every time.

Keep flying,
and fly high.

All my love,
Evgenia Pimżin
